FAQS

Where does the Companion Animal Foundation get the funds it distributes to needy pet owners?

The RIVMA Companion Animal Foundation helps veterinarians preserve the special relationship between people and their pets by providing funds to offer medical services to the neediest of pet owners. The Foundation raises funds throughout the year to meet the ongoing program goals. It hosts an annual golf tournament in the summer and asks for support from the veterinary community and the general public in an annual appeal. There are donation boxes in veterinary clinics, pet shelters and pet stores statewide. Finally, corporations and foundations are asked to help support the Spay/Neuter and Grant Programs.

How do I apply for CAF funds?

When will the Grant Program begin to make assistance available to low-income pet owners?

The RIVMA Companion Animal Foundation is in its early stages and is just beginning to make grants-in-aid. Right now, intensive work is underway to expand the limited funds into a more substantial endowment which will serve the state's needy pets for years to come.
